ICM Input Services: Data-Entry Specialists

Past to Present

When ICM opened for business in 1976, companies had a computer department or they had no computer.  In both cases and for different needs companies with and without computer departments would send out work to data-entry specialists.  Computer technology would take another fourteen years (1990) for desktop computers to decentralize businesses.  Meanwhile, ICM employed as many as 100 people to do entry and data collection work for their clients, which at the time included the stock market and the commodity market.

Today ICM performs the same "classic" service as done before.  However, due to cost factors, some of the larger bulk keyboard work is done by affiliates overseas.  It often depends on whether the work that needs capturing can be imaged or scanned; if it can then it is cost effective to take advantage of the labor rate overseas.  Although, in the final analysis if what has to be captured cannot be imaged or scanned, then the Lower Manhattan location of ICM is completely outfitted to perform the task.

Client Commitment

As a leading data-entry specialist service, ICM has provided twenty-seven years of uninterrupted service to hundreds of satisfied clients.  They represent the financial community, including brokerage firms, stock exchanges and banks, medical facilities, insurance companies, and educational institutions.  They also represent small-to-midsize businesses of every kind throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Customers require that ICM run a business that requires accuracy and timely service, regardless of job size or type.  ICM has the skills, maturity, and flexibility to provide the services that customers need.  The premium that comes from reliable and timely service is repeated business.  They trust ICM with their most valuable asset - their data.  They leave the integrity, security, and backup of their data to ICM.  The data they get back arrives to them on time and accurately recorded.

Job Type and Date Needed

With its modest size, ICM has more flexibility than a larger firm of its kind does.  It is both small enough to get involved with a single application and large enough to get involved with an extensive application.  The job differences can vary from capturing (scanning or keying) 100 address labels to capturing (scanning or keying) 1000 employee payroll cards, with a payroll service doing the actual checks.   ICM also has the ability to always offer same-day and next-day service because it has on hand skilled full-time employees and, with an extensive application, it has a group of skilled part-timers.   Additionally, the skilled overseas workers have a next-day turnaround, which adds to the already cost effective option that is offered for larger jobs.

Overall Capabilities

The capacity that ICM has to offer its clients is extensive, from claims entry, data capture, document management, order entry, and payroll entry, for banking, financial services, healthcare, insurance and service bureau industries.  Added to that are related services, including consulting, programming, and scanning.  ICM anticipates customer needs and offers a wide range of services to fill those needs, while at the same time providing the "classic" services depended on since 1976.
